Here at Camp Warner Park we are thrilled to maintain strong relationships with a number of local and national organizations, which includes the incorporation of exciting and educational visiting programs!
In addition to our popular activities such as creek exploration, hiking, fort building, crafts, camp games and Nature Center programs, each week will feature a range of special visitors from our partner organizations. The exact details for 2018 are still to be confirmed, but 2017’s visitors included:
- Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency– Agents from the TWRA came out to camp and taught the kids all about the wildlife native to Middle Tennessee, as well as a lesson on boater safety!
- Warner Park Nature Center– On Tuesdays campers would tour the Nature Center and do fun activities with the amazing WPNC staff.
- Mounted Metro Park Police– Metro Park Police officers would come out with their mounts to teach campers about their roles and responsibilities as stewards of the parks. Kids love getting the opportunity to pet the horses!
- UT/TSU Davidson County Extension– Campers will get hands-on with real binoculars to learn all about birds and bird-watching in Middle Tennessee.
Stay tuned for further information about 2018’s visiting programs!
